You will be successful in your work if you know embedded software related to camera; from sensor to RGB / YUV image including basics of the related algorithms needed. You should also be very familiar with low level C / C++ in embedded systems. Working experience in camera software (close to hardware) is needed to be able to succeed in your daily work.
We are looking for a firmware engineer who will focus on bringing up boards, creating special builds for camera products and making small modifications to existing software on camera area.
You will be part of our image quality team here at Tampere helping to ensure the best possible image quality for Amazon Ring devices. You will work closely with our IQ Engineers to support their software needs

Key job responsibilities
Quickly learn new things as new camera products are being developed
Wake up new devices and help other to do the same
Implement camera specific tweaks to firmware
Maintain basic knowledge on all Ring products about camera software architecture
Ability to work at the Tampere office every work day.
A day in the life
New device comes, you need to bring it alive and see that HW is OK, then pass it to IQ engineers. You will need to modify an imaging algorithm based on imaging experts needs and provide a build for the expert to verify that it works as wanted.
The amount of code that you do is not very big, but it is essential that you understand exactly what the code does (also on different devices). There will be time provided for learning every day.
About the team
You will be working as part of small software team. Typically help is here at Tampere, but for device specific questions, you need to have a network of experts around the company to get your daily work done swiftly.
Following skills are also appreciated: Low level C++ SPI & I2C GPIOs AWS Docker RTOS Experience working at/with factory manufacturing, MIPI and latest camera busses.
