WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Embedded Software Engineer (Virtualization)
At the moment we are looking for experienced Embedded SW Engineer to strengthen our Tampere team. You would start your journey in one of our most interesting and challenging projects with the role covering the following aspects:
- Building and prototyping a virtualization solution targeted at embedded Linux environments for edge type devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc).
- Leveraging and contributing to open source projects to explore the feasibility of the creation of such virtualization solutions.
Your future colleagues are waiting for you to join our international team. We are working in a modern office, almost in the city center of Tampere. Working with us is uncomplicated, there’s a good team spirit, low-hierarchy and nonexistent bureaucracy. Our way of working is flexible too, many of our team work remotely from home with visits to our office from time to time when needed. This role is equally challenging, and as such we offer a very good compensation. We would hope that you are able to start as soon as possible but we are of course ready to be flexible also.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The software professional we are looking for should be comfortable with at least some of the following:
- Knowledge and experience with virtualized environments, preferably embedded environments, for example with Linux/KVM, Qemu, Xen, etc, seL4 a bonus.
- Familiarity with Linux kernels, microkernels, drivers, low-level memory handling, interrupt handling.
- Virtual machine architecture, inter-virtual machine communications.
- Experience with ARM architecture or x86 architecture and general development board experience (board bring up, debugging, linux on top).
- Fluent English
If not all of the above are familiar, but virtualization sounds interesting, then an aptitude for self-initiated research, motivation for low-level embedded development and prototyping should not be underestimated or under-valued.
