We are currently looking for a motivated and talented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our thruster business. In this role you will be part of a world-class electrical engineering team with highly skilled engineers. As an electrical engineer you will work globally while having your office located in Norway, Finland or Sweden. You will have a central role in supporting and contributing to the development of electrical technology and products on a divisional level, co-operate closely with other segments within Kongsberg as well as with external partners. You will be working with our world class propulsion product, with special focus on Permanent Magnet Technology.

Electrical propulsion is a growth segment for Kongsberg Maritime and we need you to support us reaching our ambitious target.

Key accountabilities

• Responsible for electrical CAD tool in department
• Establish robust framework for executing efficient day to day business. Experience within Electrical Cad tools as Eplan, Autocad, E3 or similar
• Responsible for integration of tools according to KM`s digitalization strategy
• Electrical engineering and support across the entire propulsion product range. Work with KM`s state of the art products
• Participation in various type of projects, including Research and Development projects
• Producing framework for manuals and documentation

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum 5 years with relevant experience, higher education is an advantage (e.g.: Electronics).
• Experience within following fields:
• Electrical CAD tool and MS software.
• Permanent magnet and conventional motors.
• Frequency converters and starters.

• Knowledge of IEC electrical standards and class society rules
• Good verbal and written English
• Ship design and propulsion knowledge is considered as an advantage.
