Our Control System team creates and develops onboard control system solutions for our drill fleet. Team provides professional services in areas of mobile working machine design & development for Surface Drilling division products. Team is involved in new product development projects and responsible for lifecycle maintenance of current products.
We are strengthening and developing our Control System team and are now looking for a proactive and future oriented BHEV Lead Engineer for a permanent position in Tampere, Finland.

Your mission
As a BHEV Lead Engineer you will be responsible for leading engineering with Battery Hybrid Electric Vehicles (BHEV) development for Sandvik Surface Drilling Division. You play an active role and contribute towards technology selection and development for advanced electric vehicle technologies implementation through personal work and collaboration with colleagues across Sandvik organization and suppliers.
In your daily work you will lead engineering conceptual work, system definitions, technical requirements and product development projects towards Battery Hybrid Electric vehicles product launches. Participating in New Product Development Projects includes individual contribution & leading engineering for layout design, simulations, component selections, testing and integration of the components as part of vehicle’s sub-system based on set system performance targets. Being technical lead is also providing coordination, technology support and guidance for engineering team working with mechanical-, hydraulic-, electrical- and software-engineering integrating BHEV systems as part of our products.
About you and what we find important
You have good general understanding on moving mobile machinery and electric-hydraulic systems or you have a genuine interest to accommodate the skills and competence fast. Your background can be M.Sc., Bachelor or similar from one of relevant engineering areas with knowledge of BHEV technologies and solutions. Strong track record leading engineering work and delivering product development projects is considered beneficial in this role. As a person you are a self-directed team player with good co-operation, negotiation, and language skills (both in Finnish and in English).
